At the beginning of the new year 2024, Yukon Group is pleased to announce two firmware updates. The first of these will enable the use of a ballistic calculator for all users of the Trail 2 LRF XP50. And the second adds improvements to ballistic calculations for Thermion 2 LRF scopes, providing better performance and comfort.
Recognizing that Pulsar Trail scopes are still a favorite of many hunters around the world, we are introducing firmware update 5.o for the Trail 2 LRF XP50. Just like one of the previous updates to the flagship line of Thermion 2 scopes, this firmware allows the use of ballistic calculations for accurate shooting at long distances and connecting the unit to the Stream Vision Ballistic mobile app.
The latest 5.0 update provides access to a ballistic algorithm that allows calculation of bullet trajectory and displays an aiming point suggestion on the Trail 2 LRF XP50 screen. The good news for owners of Trail 2 LRF XQ50 scopes – the company’s engineers are working on a similar update for this model as well. It is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2024. To use a ballistic calculator on your scope, follow these steps:
1. Download the latest version of the Stream Vision Ballistics mobile app
2. Create a ballistic profile (or several if you need more than one) by following the instructions in the app.
3. Connect the scope to the Stream Vision Ballistics app via Bluetooth.
4. Using the tream Vision Ballistics application, load the ballistic profile into scope memory. You can then disconnect from the app.
5. Measure the distance using the laser range finder with two short presses. The first press activates the rangefinder, and the second one measures the distance and activates the ballistic calculations in the scope.
6. An indication of a suggested aiming point will appear on the aiming screen.
