Enabled ballistic calculations for Pulsar Trail 2 LRF XQ50 thermal sights via firmware update 5.0.
Knowing that Pulsar Trail scopes are still considered a favorite hunting accessory by many hunters around the world, Pulsar is introducing firmware update 5.0 for the Trail 2 LRF XQ50 and Trail 2 LRF XQ50A.
Just like the previously released updates for the Pulsar Trail 2 LRF XP50 thermal scopes, this update enables ballistic calculations for accurate long-range shooting.
The firmware update, version 5.0, comes with a ballistic algorithm that allows calculation of bullet trajectory and offers an aiming point on the Trail 2 LRF XQ50 screen.
To turn on the ballistic calculator feature on your Trail scope, follow these steps:
- Download the latest version of the Stream Vision Ballistics app on your mobile device.
- Create a ballistic profile (or several if you need one) by following the instructions in the app.
- Connect the scope to the Stream Vision Ballistics mobile app via Bluetooth.
- Using the Stream Vision Ballistics app, upload ballistic profiles to a thermal sight. You can then unlink the app.
- Measure the distance with the laser rangefinder with two short presses. The first press activates the laser rangefinder, and the second one measures the distance and activates the ballistic calculations in the instrument.
- A corrected aiming point for distance will appear on the scope screen.
The Stream Vision Ballistics app can connect to the following Pulsar scopes:
- Thermion 2 LRF XL50
- Thermion 2 LRF XP50 Pro
- Thermion 2 LRF XQ50 Pro
- Thermion 2 LRF XG50
- Trail 2 LRF XP50 / Trail 2 LRF XP50A
- Trail 2 LRF XQ50 / Trail 2 LRF XQ50A
Other improvements coming with the 5.0 update:
- 3 distance visualization options.
- Extended display time for the rangefinder widget in the upper right corner.
- Ballistic calculations in SCAN mode.
- Changed auto calibration indication.
